Damn ... I was starting to feel like I was getting into a groove w/semi-regular postings again, and then ... flat-line. All quiet on the Debster front.
But I had dinner with Maria tonight - I hadn't seen her in quite a while - and if there is a poster-girl for going from total non-posting to getting into a groove again, it's Maria. After a period late last year when she was checking in very sporadically, and then no postings for several months, Maria decided to sign on to Project 365 - a "take a photo a day and post it" project, and damned if she isn't doing it. (she takes some fabulous photos ...)
I'm not up for taking a photo/posting every day, but it was jazzifying to hear her talk about her process, and I came home and thought: get off your inertia-ed ass and write something Cooperman.
Cause, while I still write every morning, that writing is for me - and there's something about posting that begets a whole different sort of experience/process/product and I miss it when I don't do it. But like a lot of things that are good for me (exercise ... eating w/some semblance of balance) when I get out of a groove, it's hard to get back in.
So in an effort to grease the wheels, a couple of shots from earlier this month ...
The pier at Ocean Grove on January 6th - the best of the globally-warmed warm winter days we had here in Joisey; it was 71 degrees.
(and here's a crazy-ass girl who went in the water ... in a bikini no less ...)
I am missing the balmy weather we were having for a while, but I know that things are as they are supposed to be now that I'm freezing my ass off on a daily basis. It is January after all.
I'd love to be joining Maria and Kerstin in this photo a day thing...but the camera we have right now is so cheap and crappy...maybe next year. ;) But always good to 'hear' from you.

Well -- look at you!! Woohoo!
It was so great to see you last night. A total treat. Must do it more often.
Actually, I'm using Project 365 to build up daily habits and discipline that I hope will spill over into other areas ... like exercise. If I can do P365, I tell myself, then I can really do anything that requires discipline. For me, it's mostly a matter of getting into the mindset that leads to the action. Doing something every day makes it easier, faster, and more automatic after a while, in a good way. Reminds me of my corporate days and how when I got into the habit of writing every day (because I had deadlines), I became so much faster, better, and less anal about it. Things just start to flow because of all the 'practice.' I can already see that happening with with writing/posting because of P365.
... now whether it will really transfer to something like exercise is still a question.
