I've removed the "FeedBlitz" link/sign-up from my side column. TypePad offered this service several months ago, and it sounded pretty cool. But in the last couple of weeks, a few friends/blog readers mentioned that they hadn't received any alerts in a while and wondered if I'd been out of commission. Nope, I told them, I've been blogging. (sporadically yes, but blogging ...)
So, it seems, the FeedBlitzers were not blitzing.
I went to their site to try to figure out what was wrong and how to fix it, but I have something of a techy-impairment (which means that my brain kinda shuts down when faced with detailed tech stuff - or things that require thoughtful searches on techy websites ...), and therefore, after several attempts to get to the bottom of it (each one turning up nothing), I gave up.
I understand that there are other ways to get updates from the blogs you regularly read, but I don't really understand how to do it. If you do, feel free to explain (in the comments section, or shoot me an email), and I shall be forever grateful for your tech consultation.
If you know how to use these (hopefully more reliable) services, go on ahead and sign up to get a notice when I update my blog. Because clearly, it is a fascinating life that I lead ... writing a post about technological complications I know nothing about on a Saturday evening.
With this kind of excitement, you don't want to miss a thing.
I'm a big fan of Bloglines. Basically you sign up for an account, and then can enter the page of every blog that you want to know when they are updated (you can have catagories and levels). Then you just have to login to you're feeds and it tells you what blogs have been updated. Love it!
